First stop Hawaii

Nadine here. After ten hours flying we arrived in Hawaii, ten hours before we left Sydney. We crossed a little something during the night called the international date line. Which is kind of like time travel. It gets us again on the way home and steals a whole day at the end of the month.

Honolulu airport is bigger than I thought and we walked the entire length if it!

Immigration and customs weren't too dramatic. We had to stand in that new full body scanner thingy with arms above our heads. I will leave Trevor to tell you about his experiences. Suffice for me to say I believe beards are the problem. 

On the next leg of the flight to Seattle. We land about an hour after we left Sydney. I give up trying to calculate how many actual hours we will have been traveling by then.

Two nights in Seattle then aboard the cruise ship for the inside passage and Alaska.

Off we go

The joys of International check in. I think this photo should be captioned 'I'm with stupid!'

Heading to Seattle

Excitement mounts. One more sleep and Nadine and I fly Hawaiian Air to Hawaii and then to Seattle. Crossing the dateline means we arrive in Seattle ONE HOUR AFTER we leave at 9.30 pm Wednesday.

Packing is both fun and onerous. Although it is spring where we will be the scenery will range from the cool air of the Rocky Mountains in Canada and glaciers of Alaska to the tropics of the Hawaiian Islands. Ah well somebody has to do it.

Stay tuned in to share our adventure! More soon!
